Where Have I Been?
It has been a while since I posted so I wanted to let everyone know that I am back and what has been going on.
To start, let me first explain that I had been a volunteer campus coordinator for a multi-campus church since 2019. I was also working part time at a call center. Summer of 2023, I found myself out of work, which was great for my ministry and gave me the time to start this website. It was not great, however, for my family’s finances, so I needed to find another job. I mainly focused on customer service call center work, because that is what was paying the bills, and I was happy at my church and in my ministry, so I wasn’t really looking for a church role. However, I felt lead to apply to a few churches and trusted that God had a plan.
In October, I started this website. It was that same day I got a call from a company offering me a job in the customer service call center. I had been talking to one church, but I honestly thought I God had answered my prayers with a great new job, the ministry I already loved, and this site.
I was wrong. I was asked to fly out to Tennessee for a visit to the church I had been talking to. In November, I boarded a plane very torn. I had felt called into full time ministry 20 years before, but I wasn’t sure if this was the right time. I was getting to do great things with great people at my church, I just started a wonderful job, and I had lived in Arizona for 40 of my 41 years. So, I went assuming God had something to teach me, but I would never get the offer.
It was a great weekend. The people at the church were great and I felt like I instantly belong with these people. I fell in love with the church and what they were trying to do in the community around them. I also fell in love with the area, it was beautiful and I felt like this was where I belonged.
Still, I thought I would probably not hear back, so I was very surprised when I did. My family and I prayed and we decided it was time to go. In January, we packed up our things and moved to Tennessee and I took the role as Next Gen Pastor. My husband is a man of caution and he wasn’t sure about things at first, but God explained to him clearly that this was His plan for our lives and just set the path before us, so by the time we got the call, he was fully onboard. Even my teenage daughter was ready to go. When I got the call, she was hiding outside my door, and squealed excitedly as soon as I hung up.
So We have spent the last few months getting situated in new roles, a new home and church, and a new state. I can safely say, it does feel like home here. My son, who is in his twenties decided to stay in Arizona so I miss him, my mom, and all my friends and family there, but we are happy. We are excited for what is happening in ministry, we have made so amazing friends, and we love living in what we desert dwellers have decided is most definitely a rain forest.
Over my next few posts I will take more about things that have happened and what I have learned and found in the process, because there is so much more to this story than what is written here, but for now, just now I am happy to be back at my keyboard and have exciting things in store for Crazy KidMin.
